PSI "Big Air" Carb Testimonials.
From: Curtis Adams
Message: Hi Bruce
Couldn't wait to get on line and tell you guys how much I love your
Big
Air Carb.
I own an 06 Big Dog K9 with a 117 S&S. K&N air cleaner, No Emissions
and
a set of Street Walker Skinny Minnys.
I have done power upgrades on my bikes in the past but nothing like
this.
Relatively quick and easy installation. And once I had the Carb tuned,
it only took minutes, what a difference. Smoother idle, hard ass
acceleration, smoother power band and a top end that just wants to
keep
going.
I just recently completed installing your third gen Carb on my buddies
03 Big Dog Chopper with a 107 S&S motor. Man you talk about waking a
sleeping gorilla. His bike flat out hauls butt now. And I love the new
adjustment knob for the mid needle it makes tuning even easier than
before, I didn't even think that would be possible.
I will never run anything else on my Vs again. Its a PSI Big Air for
me
or nothing at all.
Keep up the fantastic work guys.
Sincerely
Curtis Adams

From: Danny L. Stephens
Message: My name is Danny Stephens from Dallas, Georgia. I have a 1992 dynaglide
with a stock 127 ultima engine. It has hooker tuned exhaust and came with
a S & S G carb. We worked on tuning and dynoing for six months and could
not make it run. We talked with Bruce at PSI, he was very helpful with
turning advice and advised us to try one of his carb's with a written
guarantee, so we installed his carb, installation was very simple, tuning
was very simple, could not believe the results from the carb. So we went
to Harley Davison of Cheehaw Alabama, where they were doing the dyno drag
racing from V-Twin Magizine. There was approxmiately 150 bikes running
that day for the fastest times of the day, which my bike ran 8.99 at 150
mph, which was number two qualifyer of the day.
Thanks for your help Bruce, the other help I need is how to fix wheeling
and spinning tires through third gear.
Thanks you very much,
Danny L. Stephens

Message: Bruce,
Just wanted to drop you a note in regards to my new Big Air Carb. It is installed on my custom bike with a 100ci Ultima Engine. The carb is everything you advertise. I am completely impressed with it. Throttle response is crisp and no more popping. I didn't have to change the settings, but, played with it to see how to tune it. I believe it was the best modification I could have made to improve it. I'm getting ready to take a four day trip covering Northern California and mountain areas. Can't wait to see how it does. Great Job!

From: Dan Norlin AHDRA. HotStreet #4
Message: Hi, My name is Dan Norlin. I race a Buell S 1 White Lightning in the Hot Street class on the AHDRA circute.
I want to thank Bruce from PSI for helping me with my new PSI Big Air Carb. The service and technical support Bruce
gave me was excellent.
I decided to do some testing to see how good the PSI carb performed against the: S&S super .G,and D. I originally
ran the super D carb With three thunder jets, on my Buell. It made 138.7 horse power at the rear wheel, but the mid range was way to fat I lost quite a bit of pOwer throughout the mid range becouse the carb was so big, The overlap of the cams was also a big problem, and left a big dead spot at about 5000 rpm's. I will say the super 0 worked very well at the top end.
When I put the Super G carb on, the bike only made 132.1 horse power, (a loss of 66 HP) but I gained about 7 horse power, and 6 foot pounds of torque all through the mid range of the bike. I feel this is because the super G has a smaller diameter body, which helps it flow better in the mid range. To me this wasn't good enough because I lost so much power at the top end. The super G was out.
Once I got the PSI carb on the bike, and on the dyno, I couldn't believe how easy it was to tune, My hands never got full of gas, and I never had to stop to change a jet In fact it was so simple that all I had to do was make a pull on the dyno, and watch the fuel curve. Once I saw where the fuel curve needed fuel or didn't, thats all I Had to do was reach down and turn the power jet which ever way I needed. This was so simple I had the bike tuned in about 15 minutes, The results were incredible. I made 139.1 horse power at the top end, and 10 horse power and 10 foot pounds of torque all the way through the mid range of the bike. The PSI care also took away the dead spot I had in the bike from the cam overlap.
The PSI carb out performed the super G through the mid range and flowed better than the super 0 at the top end. I got best of both worlds with the PSI Big Air carb
Thanks Bruce for helping me go even faster!

Message: Bruce Brad Haskins of Canadian Customs purchased one of your Big Air carbs for my s&s 145 super d carbed bike.....Donny Peterson and Tattoo Tony of Heavy duty Cycles in Toronto tuned the carb.....Your carb is spectacular....The bike has gone from being a touchy adventure to ride to almost a fuel injected type ride....Great product with the top notch install that was done at Heavy duty cycles.....I checked on your website and couldn't find any starting instructions for cold/warm/hot starts....After reading your setup instructions I found that there was a choke/enricher which I will use on my next start....Would you provide me with the starting instructions for cold/warm/hot starts.....The 145 is a bit of a pig to start ...regards Fred Walsh 905-979-8949

Message: Well Bruce I have some good News
The Carb is the Best investment made on this bike
The Customer Fred Walsh could not be Happier And trust me that is a hard thing to pull off.
Now I can't take the Credit for tuning the Carb
That Has to go to Tony and his Team at Heavy Duty Cycles in Toronto
They are the Best in the country at this, in my opinion.
And when they say they like it that is every thing.
Here is a picture of the bike it on
Just so you know I will use this carb every chance I get now
Thank for everything

Message: We have installed PSI carbs on many of our 107 and 117 inch motors and
we very pleased with the total performance gain. Everything from
bringing out more low-end torque to high rpm power, all the while
delivering a smoother running engine. The ease and precision of
adjustment makes the PSI carb one of the best performance/per dollar
upgrades you can buy.

Message: Hi Bruce:
Just wanted to let you know how your carb is working for me. I saw
your
"Big Air" carb advertised one night on the American Thunder television
show about a year and half ago and thought it might be just what I
needed.
I have a 1988 Softail with a mild performance cam and drag pipes
that
the previous owner had installed. I could never get the bike to run
the
way it should. I spent countless hours trying to adjust the stock carb
and
changing jets. While I got the bike to run *O.K.* it would always run
rough and not have the throttle response I wanted. Performance to me
is
not how fast I can go from 0 to 60 or even how fast the bike can go.
My
idea of performance is a smooth ride with good throttle response.
After communicating with you last winter through e-mail I met up
with
you and Rob at Sturgis. I am probably the worlds biggest skeptic and
was
very leery of your claims to this carb. But after talking you
convinced me
to give the "Big Air" carb a try. It was a little over 2 weeks after I
got
home from Sturgis before I was able to find the time to put the carb
on
the bike. A friend of mine and I put the carb on in just a little over
a
couple of hours. It was getting late and dark when we got the carb on
and
I had to go to work the next day so all we had time to do was set the
idle
before I headed for home. As soon as I pulled out of the driveway I
could
tell that there was a BIG difference in performance. The engine ran
smoother and there was a "right now" feel to the throttle and all on
just
the settings you set the carb up at in Sturgis. I did make a few
adjustments to the carb which are all done on the outside of the carb
with
no mess and cursing and only take but a few seconds. But I found out
the
settings you made were the best. I hoping to add a decent set of
exhaust
pipes before too long and with the performance and ease of your carb
to
readjust I'll have the smoothness, power and throttle response I've
been
after.
Thank you
Rich

Message: Hey Bruce,
I just wanted to thank you for designing the perfect carb. My bike is a 2005 Big Dog Chopper with a 117” S&S engine with a modified cam, nose cone air intake (pointing forward) and custom pipes. I had two other S&S carbs on prior (super E and G) and just a pain in the ass to change jet settings for different weather conditions. You can thank American thunder for doing a segment on your carb, because of it I said that’s for me and went ahead and bought one. All I can say is it woke my bike up, it pulls like a freight train from idle to wide open; it cleared up my popping on deceleration and gave it a smoother idle. The best part of all is that all you have to do is turn a few knobs and you can dial it in while you ride! Thanks again Bruce for answering all my questions and helping me out!
Thanks,
Joe Cardaci

Message: What a difference a carb can make! My bike went from being a radical handful of vibration to being smoother than my 88" Heritage Softail. After reading the instructions about five times to gain confidence, I replaced the Super G carb myself and it was pretty easy. Adjusting the the carb after I got the motor cranked was even easier. I did have to hold a rag against the intake to choke it good to help the new carb get its first draw of fuel, but it was fine after that. Thanks for your help in selecting the right PSI for my application.
Rob, I'm the tightest person I know, so spending the big bucks on a PSI carb for my S&S 112" was not easy. That said, I would tell anyone who is thinking about taking the plunge, go for it! Don't be scared. Once they take delivery of one of these PSI carbs, they'lll not only be amazed by the craftsmanship but also by its performance! Heinz
